GREETINGS FROM 31 HOWARD – OUR NEW HOME

Filed under: Drive Dossier — admin @ 5:03 pm

Greetings from 31 Howard Street in NYC- the new home of Drive Entertainment Group! One of the main reasons we moved into this beloved neighborhood harkens back to one of my favorite NY films of all time- After Hours, a cult classic by Martin Scorsese. When we first came to look at the office, I knew that I had been here before, at least in cinemaland. Sure enough, most of the film was shot right across the street at 28 Howard Street (right at Crosby). Griffin Dunne at his finest! We love being at the epicenter of both Soho and Chinatown. Since we have moved into our offices, lots of exciting projects and shows have been going on. We are gearing up for Disco Pusher’s release party on March 5th at Ella, Ted Raimi is starting to produce some very exciting projects, and Earl Slick is rockin’ across America with his axe! In fact, make sure to check out Slick getting in trouble by the NAMM sound police for being too loud! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IL7DMtVfsv0

Also on tap, we are feverishly working on locking in finishing funds for Motherfucker: A Movie and looking to have it be sold by this year. Make sure to check out the trailer on our site. We are also very excited to work on Logo’s New Now Next Awards again for the 2nd year in a row. This year promises to be as colorful and unique (if not more!) than our first!

Another amazing project that we are thrilled to be a part of is John Scheinfeld’s “We Believe: Chicago and It’s Cubs”. The documentary is coming together, and I can’t wait to see it on the festival circuit. Make sure to keep updated at www.webelievethemovie.com!

We had an intense 2008 with so many incredible projects: From The Mentor Foundation/Queen of Sweden H&M event and Shaun White’s Snowboarding Video Game Launch to Current TV’s New Icons Campaign and IFC’s Celebrity Bloggers on IFC.COM. FEARNET has moved west-side to sunny LA and we can’t wait for more groovy ghoulish fun in their horror world! We are looking forward to working with our clients both stateside and overseas…

In the philanthropic arena, we are supporting our friend Matthew Blesso and Fourth Arts Block. He will be hosting a benefit on February 28th. Inquiring minds, inquire here!

Now in the spirit of After Hours, let us close this blog, with this exchange to bring you back to Soho circa 1985:

Paul Hackett: Which way you headed?
Marcy: Downtown, SoHo.
Paul Hackett: Oh, nice… nice. A loft?
Marcy: Yeah, she’s a sculptress. Lately she’s been making these Plaster of Paris bagel and cream cheeses.
Paul Hackett: Really…
Marcy: She’s tryin to sell ‘em as paperweights. You wanna buy one?
Paul Hackett: Paperweights?… uh, yeah I would…..

Happy Plaster of Paris Bagel and cream cheese. Come visit us soon!

Happily stuck in Soho,

Drive Entertainment Group
